Thumbs up Shame on scammers

I really get quit annoyed at this kind of flaunting of people's feelings, as far as I am concerned people have feelings work hard in this game and there are some really good genuine players out there, it may be hard to find and I am sorry you had to go throu such a awfull exsperiance, yes I can see that everytime some person shatters the trust that we all some times like to give we feel like saying things like I dont want to join a guild, and I feel like Scamming back, well there is a report system and people should use it more on low lifes who cant be bothered to be playing the game instead breezing throu then acting like they did it on there own backs at the end of the game by boasting how hard there character is and how great there armor and possesions are.
This kind of inadiquacy in these people will continue I am afraid its like a substitute dummy really to me, I enjoy this game and have been scammed like the majority of us, but like I always think there are many many good guilds out there many good people, and exsperiance like in real life teaches us valuable leason's that teach us to be wiser in future adopt this attitude and it wont make you so angry it will show you only what sad people they are and what a better perosn you are to be able to sitback and say I played that game honestly and never stooped to such low level's of selfish behaviour.

Wow that is pretty rough. Sorry you had to go though that. You should have left earlier when you started seeing it though.

Our guild has no real structure, but everything is given the need of the guild. Since we pvp a lot mostly, if you have something that someone needs (not want!) it goes to them for a decent price or for free. I've given a lot of stuff away to the guild and I don't expect anything in return except they show up on time to gvg. :P

My guild is pretty much the opposite of the originally stated guild. I came from a PvP guild background but i found them impersonal and rather boring save when it came to GvG time...as such as soon as one of my pvp guilds began to fold myself and others decided to form a pve guild. Our policy was to recruit the newest members and teach them the basics of the game...and occasionally GvG, my PvP roots allowed me to get plaers i n top ranked guilds (rank 20 or so) to come teach the new players how to play the different characters. Every night I would be required to do THK for someone who wanted to get it done, of course i need to bring my monk...even though i had two other characters who needed it. Every night the officers would work their butts off for the members. soon the guild was 100 members large all lv 20's. and with that the constant spam soon ensued...can we GvG right thi second...which i would respond with "if more peopleget on vent we can"...as well as can someone give me 20k for my 15k armor...which i would then say no, u dont need that if u rlly want something u should rlly work hard for it. Inevitably members would leave and some new recruits would be found, some were very loyal, but unfortunately could not relieve the officers of their help request from the greedier members who stayed along. One night, after doing the dessert tour for 3 guildie, i began farming for some gold with my 55 monk cuz we needed some new stuff in the hall. a member then begins screaming that he would be leaving the guild because he would be leav ing the guild because he did not recieve help in the guild...2 of the officers started saying that they had not once see him ask for help or even say he needed anything when nebody offered help...he then proceeded to call everyone in the guild f***ing noobs, and that it was a sh*tty a** loser guild for noobs. The he bagan pming me with comments about how i was an idiot who never helped neone and that all i did was farm for gold for myself, this was the first of many like instances from newer members...there was one member who called us all f***ing morons and noobs because i was not willing to make him an officer just after joining th e guild...then there was the kid who claimed one night that noone was helpful when in fact he had never asked anyone for help and had also not responded to help offers by neone, he then threatend to report the whole guild for some uknown reason...then the final story is one of the worst, we had some guests from cP on our vent to hang out and do some GvG's when suddenly during a GvG a 12 year old who had been kicked for obsessive swearing and rudeness in guild and alliance chat, hopped on the vent with the name ()()()()()()() etc... cauing a lack of instructions to be handed out and a very likely defeat...one of the officers hopped on game and asked him to stop spamming vent, but of course it continued on...eventually that same officer managed to trick him to staying on for more then 3 seconds and he was finall banned.

I have dealt with too many problems in the short time of being leader of this guild...as such the guild status has been changed to that of AB/FF and that any heavy faction farmers would be helping the guild in that way and that we will no longer be able to spend 5 hours a day each on helping the same quest...only to find that someone who was too shy to speak earlier now wanted that same mission done... also we began ompetition for officer spots..so that now officer meant u could just relax as many officers had begun to demonstrate, now members are more into helping others instead of just themselves...we maintain only 6 officer slots in the guild...and the competition is so tense for these few spots that even my extra accounts arent officer material. the amount of sudden outbursts have gone down...and so have the incessant requests for becoming officers...we try to keep everyones ego in check so people dont consider themselves better then the guild and thus lightening up the guild environment. Basically guild chat is just fun...are members have become more skilled at pvp...newer members always trying to help out in whatever way possible...one member even went from one day saying that he hated faction farming to asking me why the minimum donation from members hadnt been increased to 15k a day...which then resulted in many pms from member stating that they would begin meeting our measly 5k a day requirements.

Currently the guild is in a giant upswing...we are relaxed, maybe not as helpful what we used to be...but everyone is enjoying the guild to the utmost...our rules are more lax...at if u are ever fighting in an ab and see the constant spam that Lucey is casting elemental attunement on herself...or the constant spam of NOOBS even though we are winning 400-50, or the constant asking whether or not cap sig was needed cuz all everyone talks about is capping, then u know the new and improved LoGW is not far away.

wth? how could they do that? me being a leader myself think that is very unfair, you earned that stuff, you spent your time so you deserve that
if i ask for items from my officers or members i offer a fair price, and i ask for items rarely (once in the past 3 months)

wow if I were you I'd be quitting that guild the moment they asked me for my first donation. The word "scam" came to mind after reading just the first two sentences. I can't believe you were suckered for so long.

To the OP your story reminds me of the "Serenity Now" funeral raid in WoW; fills me with mixed feelings of empathy for you and rage at the guild coupled with: how could you be that naive?

I also realize from what I read I am not alone in thinking how can anyone be that foolish, but it is your naive and good natured mentality that you possessed that I think should be revered not scorned. After all, I think GW and RL would be a better place if we all were as eager to help out and lend a hand as you were.

In the nature of making things right, I would love to hand yah 6-7 low end greens and 50k to help compensate you for your losses. I know it is not much, but it is what I can give. If you post your IGN here I will make certain to contact you in game.

I'll check this thread over the next few days...

hey thanks for all the private messages and replies here. I dont need anything but thank you for the offer. Your right I shouldnt have said anything about the drops I got knowing that I would be asked to donate them. The thing is I dont havea warrrior and have perfect stuff for my other 6 chars, so it wasnt any skin (just money) off my back to donate.

I am now playing this other game and having the same problems as with this old guild I was in. I am new to this other game so I asked how much it was worth and got a message from someone saying he wanted it I offered to sell it to him and he said "Its often looked down upon to sell to guildies" and I was thinking "But I never offered it free.."

Wow what a dumb guild lol. I don't think you should really give anything valuable away for free... maybe sell it to them at a discount or something though since they are in your guild.

well it's nice that guildwars has such a system where you decide what you want to do for your guild and so on, you can choose yourself to stay or not to stay in a guild where you must donate a lot of stuff. i would never stay in a guild where i had to give away lot's of things.

At the moment i'm in a large alliance of 10 guilds that is trying to get a town and we sell things to each others and help each others in gvg and alliance battles, only thing that the leader asks us for is to get some faction points every now and then.

^Everytime you give Faction to the guild, thats like donating 5k to the Guild

Anyway...I never donate directly to the guild money wise, When I've spent money on Guild NPCs for the guild, they've either broke up the guild, or randomly decided to reform the guild under a new name - So I don't even bother.

any guild that "requires" or asks it members to give items away, especially those that set up special priveledges for officers ... should be avoided

You mean you didn't get the "Communist Dictatorship" checkbox when you formed your guild? The one that drafts all nearby players, prevents them from leaving, and rolls their entire inventory into a shared distribution system controlled by officers?

Huh. That must have been in a recent patch.

"I also figured out that, if the guild leader is a female, she is more likely to be more trustworthy than a male guild leader, mainly because females, I believe, are less "evil" and won't try to scam their own guildies out of their selfishness." Oh,thats mature.

Most don't unless its an alliance that owns a town, then theres usually a 5-10k faction a day minimum. Which isnt much..give like 3 alliance battles to your guild.
